This research was undertaken with stakeholders across local and regional governments, thinktanks, and the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector, in partnership with the Local Authorities and the Cost of Living Emergency (LOCALE) project at the University of York.

Feeding Britain Holiday Club Funding – Easter and May half-term

Feeding Britain’s funding is available to organisations across the UK running holiday clubs during Easter and May half-term holidays that can provide additional places for children who are living in poverty but not eligible for statutory support (e.g., the Holiday Activities and Food Programme or Free School Meals). 

The holiday clubs must offer enriching activities and provide meals that meet the School Foods Standards. 

The Future of the St Thomas Centre is Secured

We are pleased to say that the St Thomas Centre in Ardwick will continue to serve as a vital hub for voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations in Greater Manchester. Following the closure of GMCVO, we can now announce that agreement has been reached for Macc to take over responsibility for the Centre, safeguarding this important resource for our sector.

This time on Food Stories, FareShare Greater Manchester take you out to meet one of their community food members, the Tameside Meals Project. The catering group was formed during Covid by Kala Mandviwala thanks to a local authority grant. It aims to feed the most vulnerable in the local community via community organisations and social workers.
