Volunteering and benefits - NCVO guidance

If you are receiving state benefits you are still allowed to volunteer. However, there are some rules that you need to be aware of to make sure that your volunteering doesn’t have an impact on the benefits you receive. Have your say in the future funding of youth and play work in Manchester

From next year, a million pounds of Council funding is going into Young Manchester, the new independent youth and play trust. Do you think your organisation should have a share and, just as importantly, a say in how things are organised in future?

Currently the Council has 60 contracts with the youth and play sector. In future, it looks like the Trust is planning for 15 or less.

The Repair Revolution comes to Manchester

What do you do with a broken lamp, toaster or chair? Toss it? No way! Stitched Up are bringing repair BACK, by launching Manchester’s First Repair Cafe.

A Repair Cafe is a free community event where people get together to mend broken things. Run by volunteers, it aims to reduce waste but also to pass on important skills and provide a space for people to get to know their neighbours.
