GM Asylum and Migration Response Group call for expressions of interest

The Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) is now recruiting three representatives from voluntary, community, faith, and social enterprise (VCFSE) organisations who work with and for non-UK nationals across Greater Manchester to join the GM Asylum and Migration Response Group.

Improving Black Health Outcomes (IBHO) BioResource

The IBHO BioResource is a new research initiative dedicated to studying health conditions that affect people from Black communities in the UK. The project is part of the NIHR BioResource, a re-contactable resource that connects health research volunteers to a wide range of research studies.

Volunteers with and without health conditions are being invited who match the following criteria:

In the January 2024 Eurobarometer poll noted that Roma are the most discriminated group in Europe, with 65% of them experiencing discrimination in everyday lives. This is a staggering data which demonstrates the extent of antigypyism in the European society.

Advice Now: Homelessness and temporary accommodation housing rights for refugee course (4 days)

Advicenow will be running a free housing/homelessness rights course for community groups supporting refugees. The course will be delivered online and is funded by The Disrupt Foundation.

The course aims to give you the basic knowledge and skills needed to deal with key issues for people dealing with homelessness and living in temporary accommodation.

Ethnic Inequalities and Cumulative Disadvantage in the criminal justice system

Action for Race Equality in partnership with Clinks will be hosting a two-part event on ethnic inequalities in the criminal justice system.

The online event bringing together researchers, practitioners, and community voices to explore how racial and ethnic disparities persist and accumulate across the justice system.

Drawing on new findings from the ESRC-funded “Cumulative Disadvantage in the CJS” and linked Ministry of Justice Data First datasets, the event will provide a platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and the co-creation of solutions.
