eVisa support sessions at GMIAU

The Home Office is now using a digital system - eVisas - to replace physical proof of immigration status. Greater Manchester Aid Unit (GMIAU) know that not everyone will have managed to access their eVisa, or may not be aware they need to, and that this may now be affecting their access to services, employment, benefits, and housing.

From the 9 January 2025, GMIAU is offering free support sessions to help people to access their eVisa. The sessions will run every Thursday until 27 March 2025, between 10am-3pm at GMIAU’s offices: 1 Delaunays Road, Crumpsall, Manchester, M8 4QS.

GMCA Negative asylum decision information leaflet

Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) have developed a resource in partnership with VCFSE organisations supporting people seeking asylum in Greater Manchester, which aims to provide information about the options available to people who have received a negative asylum decision. GMCA felt that there was a lack of clear information available to people and hope this this resource will be helpful for people who have been refused asylum, and for the people supporting them in Greater Manchester.
