The Manchester Food Board have two vacancies for new board members.

The Manchester Food Board provides the strategic leadership to drive forward the city’s Food Strategy. It acts as a hub for connecting the people and projects working to shift towards a food system that is resilient, healthy and sustainable.

The Board is chaired by Councillor Tracey Rawlins (Executive Member for Clean Air, Environment and Transport at Manchester City Council) and is made up of a wide range of partners from across the city. The Board meets in person on a quarterly basis, in the city centre.

NAVCA has a newly published Inclusive Volunteering Guide which goes into detail on all topics around inclusive volunteering, sharing member stories, tips and advice. Whichever way you work with volunteers, check out the guidance to learn something new, directly from local infrastructure organisations.

Volunteering strengthens communities. It connects people, builds trust, and enables action on the things that matter most locally. But for volunteering to truly thrive, it must be open to everyone.

The Open Doors Project, established by The University of Manchester's Office for Social Responsibility in partnership with Manchester Museum, Alliance Manchester Business School and the Christabel Pankhurst Building, provides free meeting room space on the Oxford Road campus for community organisations. Bookings are available to voluntary and charity organisations, CICs and social enterprises, community groups, and residents’ associations.

Small Charity Week is a campaign to empower the UK’s small charities to have an even greater impact on society, and to address the challenges they face.

Throughout the week, training and events are provided for small charities, and a national conversation is created about the vital role of small charities in strengthening communities across the UK.

To develop the new Our Manchester strategy, Manchester City Council listened to over 10,000 voices across Manchester to shape a future we can all be proud of.

Over the next 10 years, they will be focusing on the 12 key priorities residents said mattered most – Our People, Our Neighbourhoods, Our City.
