Mustard Tree Survey – plans for building on Oldham Road

Mustard Tree is a charity that provides services to people who are homeless and at risk of homelessness.

They have a large building on Oldham Road, and are fundraising to refurbish it and make it a great resource, both for delivering their own services and providing space for other organisations to use.

Complete our important State of the Sector Survey

We have extended the deadline to complete our State of the Sector survey to 18 December 2016.

We would like to encourage your organisation to complete our important survey as we want to know how the government cuts and economic recession have affected our sector. We need to know how many groups have lost funding, how many have had to reduce services and how many have had to close or are facing closure. But also how we continue to work together providing valuable services and support to the people of Manchester.

The People's Plan for Greater Manchester

Sleep Out Event in Support of Young Homeless People in Manchester

For one night Young People’s Support Foundation in partnership with Centrepoint asks you to swop your bed for a sleeping bag and sleep out so that homeless young people don’t have to.

The Sleep Out is taking place on 16 November 2016, 7pm to 7am at the Victoria Warehouse, Manchester.

Join in the Sleep Out in Manchester where Phenoix Night’s Justin Moorhouse will also be on hand to keep you all entertained.

Homelessness in Greater Glasgow and Greater Manchester - An analysis of local authority homelessness data

This Report, by Lifeline Project, analyses local authority homelessness data in Greater Manchester and ‘Greater Glasgow’ and seeks to understand the applicant population, including their needs and circumstances, as well as the effect the different English and Scottish policy approaches and legislation have on the lives of those experiencing homelessness, or the threat of it, within these two conurbations.

Cornerstone provides emergency accommodation to refugees and people who are homeless

A dedicated team of staff and volunteers, at Cornerstone Day Centre, have put in place emergency accommodation for the increasing number of people facing homelessness and destitution, including the growing population of refugees. Cornerstone has ten emergency ‘Pods’, affectionately referred to as ‘Safe Haven.’ This temporary accommodation provides shelter and safety to those who would otherwise have to sleep rough.
